Villages in the Gurgaon City are It’s Hidden Identity.
Do you know the cluster you see from your balcony?
The dense lanes with multi-storey homes, scooters lined up, and rooftops filled with water tanks?
That’s not “leftover land.” That is a gaon. A village that stood here long before the towers came up — and today, it’s still the first roof for thousands of dreamers who arrive in Gurgaon.
Every village has evolved. Where once mustard fields swayed, today stand PGs, rental flats, and hostels. These gaons gave newcomers — students, IT employees, service staff, and young professionals — an affordable start, while the high-rises next door became homes for CEOs, entrepreneurs, and global CXOs. Gurgaon’s story is about both, living side by side.
Every road hides a gaon name behind the high-rises. Let’s explore them.
MG Road & DLF Phases 1–3- Sikanderpur, Nathupur, Chakkerpur. Still buzzing with PGs and rentals, even as Beverly Park, Essel Towers, and Cyber City dominate the skyline.
Golf Course Road → Ghata, Wazirabad. From mustard fields to billionaire towers like Aralias, Magnolias, and Camellias. Around the bend, Suncity and Sector-56 remain evergreen hubs.
Golf Course Extension → Ullhawas, Behrampur, Tigra, Kadarpur. Villages turned into PG and rental hubs. Around them rose M3M Golf Estate, Emaar Marbella, Mahindra Luminare, Tata Raisina, Ireo Grand Arch, and Heritage One.
Sohna Road → Islampur (Haslapur), Jharsa, Fazilpur, Badshahpur. Once dotted with farmlands, today hidden behind Malibu Town, Bestech Park View, Vipul Greens, Eldeco Mansions. Omaxe and Raheja Mall once brought retail buzz here,
SPR → Darbaripur, Palda, Hasanpur, Nurpur. Farmlands turned into BPTP Astaire Gardens, Tulip societies, and flanked by Elan Epic and Reach 3 Roads.
Dwarka Expressway → Bajghera, Chauma, Daulatabad, Kherki Daula. Still anchoring Gurgaon’s “future corridor,” now lined with Sobha City, Adani, Hero Homes, BPTP Amstoria, and more. Yet villages here remain the heartbeat of daily life.
New Gurgaon → Shikhopur, Nakhrola, Hayatpur, Kakrola, Bhangrola. From quiet gaons to the base of Vatika India Next, DLF Garden City, Orris, and Bestech.
Old Gurgaon → Carterpuri, Dundahera. Still proud, still rooted, surrounded by ITC, Godrej Habitat, and Ambience Creacions. Palm Vihar and Ansal Plaza Sector-23 keep the old flavour alive.
Gurgaon didn’t erase its villages. It grew because of them.
Next time you stand on your balcony, look down and ask:
What is the name of that gaon? And how many Gurgaon success stories started in those very lanes?
Because Gurgaon’s Millennium story is built not just on towers and malls — but on villages that still breathe at the city’s core.
